Migrate to Shopify from Any Platform

An enterprise platform to Shopify Plus migration moves your catalog, customers, orders, B2B accounts and content from Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Commerce (Hybris), Oracle Commerce or another platform into Shopify Plus. Ecomzier maps your data model, reconnects ERP, PIM and OMS, rebuilds custom code as apps and Functions, and 301 redirects every URL.

Who is an enterprise migration to Shopify Plus for?

Enterprise commerce suites give you deep control, but they also come with long release cycles, specialist developers and an integration layer only a few people understand. Shopify Plus is a hosted platform built for high volume, B2B and international selling. These are the stores we replatform most often:

Salesforce Commerce Cloud brands

B2C Commerce sites built on SFRA or SiteGenesis cartridges, often with several sites, locales and currencies, where every storefront change means cartridge development and a code deployment.

SAP Commerce (Hybris) merchants

B2C and B2B stores running Java extensions and an Accelerator storefront that SAP has deprecated, facing a storefront rebuild and the next version upgrade either way.

Oracle Commerce (ATG) and Oracle Commerce Cloud stores

Oracle Commerce 11.3 is past both Premier and Extended Support. Teams on ATG or Oracle Commerce Cloud want a platform with an active roadmap and a large app ecosystem.

Custom and other platforms

Homegrown PHP or Java stores, headless builds and smaller SaaS platforms such as Volusion, X Cart, Shift4Shop or Ecwid that a growing business has outgrown.

Which enterprise platforms do we migrate to Shopify Plus?

Every platform below moves to Shopify Plus. What changes is how data is extracted, how much custom code needs a new home and how urgent the move is.

PlatformWhere it stands todayWhat it means for your migration
Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C Commerce)SaaS platform run by Salesforce. Storefronts are built from cartridges on SFRA or the older SiteGenesis architecture (Salesforce Trailhead), or run headless on the B2C Commerce API.Data is exported from Business Manager and the APIs. Cartridge code does not move, so we rebuild the job each cartridge does.
SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris)SAP has deprecated the Accelerator UI storefront extensions from release 2205 onward and published removal plans (SAP Knowledge Base 3263872).If your Accelerator storefront needs replacing anyway, a move to Shopify Plus replaces the storefront and the platform in one project.
Oracle Commerce (ATG) 11.xOracle Commerce 11.3 Premier Support ended April 2022 and Extended Support ended April 2025. Release 11.4 has Premier Support until July 2029 (Oracle Lifetime Support Policy).Stores on 11.3 or older run without Premier or Extended Support. We extract directly from the ATG repositories and database.
Oracle Commerce CloudOracle still documents it as a current SaaS product under the name Oracle Commerce (Oracle docs). We found no official retirement date.No forced deadline, so the case rests on roadmap, ecosystem and total cost. We extract data through the Commerce REST API.
Custom and other platformsHomegrown PHP or Java builds, headless stacks and SaaS platforms such as Volusion, X Cart, Shift4Shop or Ecwid.Data comes from the database, exports or APIs. See the other platforms table below.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify Plus: how B2C Commerce maps

Salesforce B2C Commerce separates code from data. Code lives in cartridges on a cartridge path, configured in Business Manager, and an SFRA site layers plugin, LINK and custom cartridges over a base cartridge (Salesforce Trailhead). Data lives in catalogs, price books and inventory lists. Here is where each piece lands:

Salesforce B2C CommerceShopify PlusHow we handle it
Cartridges (SFRA or SiteGenesis)Theme, apps and FunctionsCartridge code does not move. We list every cartridge in the path and rebuild what it does as theme code, an app, a custom app or Shopify Functions. LINK cartridges are replaced by the vendor’s Shopify app where one exists.
Business ManagerShopify adminMerchandising, content, promotions and order tasks move to the Shopify admin. We document the new workflows for your team.
Master catalog and storefront catalogsProducts and collectionsProducts come from the master catalog. Storefront catalog categories become collections and navigation menus.
Master products, variation attributes and variantsProducts with options and variantsEach master becomes one product and each variant keeps its SKU, price and stock. Shopify allows up to three options and 2,048 variants per product (Shopify Help Center), so wider variation models are restructured.
Price booksPrices, compare at prices and market pricingPrice books hold prices per currency and can include volume price tables (Salesforce Trailhead). List and sale price books become compare at price and price, currency books become market pricing, and price tables become B2B volume pricing.
Inventory listsLocations and inventoryEach inventory list becomes stock at a Shopify location. Store and warehouse stock moves per location.
Custom attributesMetafields and metaobjectsCustom object attributes become metafields, and repeated structured data becomes metaobjects.
Content assets, content slots and Page Designer pagesPages, theme sections and metaobjectsContent is rebuilt as editable theme sections so merchandisers keep control without code deployments.
OCAPI and B2C Commerce API (SCAPI) integrationsShopify Admin GraphQL API and webhooksEvery integration that calls OCAPI or SCAPI (Salesforce developer docs) is reconnected to the GraphQL Admin API.
URL rules and URL redirectsShopify URL redirectsBusiness Manager handles redirects under Merchant Tools, SEO, with a quota of 25,000 URL redirects per site (Salesforce Trailhead). Every SEO URL and redirect is mapped again on Shopify.
Several sites, locales and currenciesShopify Markets or expansion storesLocales and currencies become markets in one store. Sites with separate brands or operations can become expansion stores.

SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) to Shopify Plus: how the data model maps

SAP Commerce keeps each product catalog in two versions: a Staged version that business users edit and an Online version that customers see, copied across by synchronization (SAP Learning). Data moves in and out with ImpEx, a CSV based import and export tool built on the SAP Commerce type system (SAP Learning). This is how each piece lands:

SAP CommerceShopify PlusHow we handle it
Catalog versions (Staged and Online)Products and collectionsWe migrate from the Online version, which matches what customers see, and flag any staged changes not yet synchronized so you can decide before cutover.
ImpEx and the type systemMigration sourceWe use ImpEx exports, the APIs or the database to extract data, then load it with the Shopify Admin API and bulk operations.
Base products and variant productsProducts with options and variantsVariant products become Shopify variants with their own SKU, price, stock and images.
Classification attributesMetafields and filtersClassification attributes become metafields, and the ones shoppers filter by become storefront filters.
Price rows and user price groupsMarket pricing and B2B catalogsRetail prices move per market. Customer specific price rows become B2B catalogs with fixed prices or percentage adjustments.
B2B Commerce Organization (units, users, cost centers, budgets, approvals)B2B companies, locations and rolesUnits and users become companies, locations and contacts with permissions. Budgets and approval rules have no direct equivalent and are rebuilt with Shopify Flow or a custom app.
Custom extensions and add onsApps, custom apps and FunctionsJava extensions do not move. Each one is reviewed and rebuilt only if the business still needs it.
Content catalogs, CMS components and SmartEditTheme sections and metaobjectsPages and components become theme sections that editors manage in the Shopify theme editor.
Accelerator or composable storefrontShopify theme or a headless storefrontMost stores move to a Shopify theme. Headless builds can keep a custom front end on Shopify APIs.
Base stores, sites, languages and currenciesShopify Markets or expansion storesLanguages, currencies and domains move to Shopify Markets. Separate sites with different catalogs can become expansion stores.

Oracle Commerce (ATG) and Oracle Commerce Cloud to Shopify Plus

Oracle sells two different products under the Oracle Commerce name. The on premise platform that began as ATG Web Commerce now runs as release 11.x under Oracle’s Lifetime Support Policy (Oracle). Oracle Commerce Cloud is a separate SaaS product with its own REST APIs (Oracle docs). Both move to Shopify Plus:

Oracle CommerceShopify PlusHow we handle it
Support status of 11.3 and olderNot applicableOracle Commerce 11.3 left Premier Support in April 2022 and Extended Support in April 2025. ATG 10 left Extended Support in December 2018 (Oracle Lifetime Support Policy).
Product catalog (products and SKUs)Products and variantsProducts become Shopify products and SKUs become variants, with catalog properties moved to metafields.
Price listsMarket pricing and B2B catalogsRetail price lists move per market. Account specific price lists become B2B catalogs.
Guided Search and Experience Manager (Endeca)Shopify search, filters and theme sectionsSearch rules and landing pages are rebuilt with Shopify search and discovery features or a search app.
Custom Java modules and JSP storefrontTheme, apps and FunctionsBusiness logic is rebuilt as apps and Functions. The JSP storefront becomes a Shopify theme.
Oracle Commerce Cloud widgets and extensionsTheme sections and appsStorefront widgets become theme sections. Server side extensions become apps or Functions.
Oracle Commerce Cloud REST API integrationsShopify Admin GraphQL API and webhooksData is extracted through the Oracle Commerce REST API, and integrations are reconnected to Shopify APIs.

Migrating from another platform?

We also move stores from platforms that are not enterprise suites. The approach is the same: map the data, rebuild what matters and redirect every URL.

PlatformHow we approach it
Custom PHP or Java buildsData is extracted from your database, so nothing depends on export tools. Business logic is rebuilt as apps or Functions. See our custom platform migration page.
Headless and composable stacksYour CMS, search and front end can stay. We move the commerce engine to Shopify Plus and reconnect the front end to Shopify APIs.
VolusionProducts, customers and orders move with their URLs mapped to Shopify handles and 301 redirects.
EcwidCatalog, options and customers move into Shopify products, variants and customer records, with redirects for any indexed store URLs.
X CartProducts, variants, customers and full order history move through the X Cart database, with every product and category URL mapped to 301 redirects. One recent X Cart project moved 70,000+ SKUs and 83,000+ orders to Shopify Plus.
Shift4Shop (formerly 3dcart)Products, options, customers and orders move into Shopify products, variants and customer records, with redirects for every indexed store URL.
Magento, BigCommerce and WooCommerceEach has a dedicated page: Magento, BigCommerce and WooCommerce.
PrestaShop, OpenCart, Wix, Squarespace and WeeblyEach has a dedicated page: PrestaShop, OpenCart, Wix, Squarespace and Weebly.

What data moves to Shopify Plus?

All of your business data moves. Code, themes and server configuration do not; we rebuild what they do.

DataMoves? How it lands in Shopify Plus
Products, variants and imagesYesTitles, descriptions, SKUs, barcodes, prices, weights, images and alt text move, with variation models remapped to options and variants.

TranslationsYesLocalized content moves as Shopify translations, published per market with Shopify Markets.

How we reconnect ERP, PIM, OMS and other integrations

On an enterprise platform, the integrations often matter more than the storefront. We inventory every system that reads or writes commerce data and reconnect it to Shopify Plus through the GraphQL Admin API, webhooks, an existing connector app or your middleware.

SystemWhat it usually doesHow it connects to Shopify Plus
ERP (for example SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or NetSuite)Products, prices, stock, customers, orders and invoicesA connector app or middleware syncs master data into Shopify and orders back to the ERP. We test with real order scenarios before launch.
PIMProduct content, attributes and mediaThe PIM writes products, metafields and media through the Admin API, and large catalogs load with bulk operations.
OMS and WMS or 3PLOrder routing, fulfillment, returns and stockFulfillment orders, locations and webhooks keep orders and stock in sync.
CRM and marketingCustomer profiles, segments and emailCustomer and order events flow to your CRM or marketing platform through its Shopify app or the API.
Search and merchandisingSearch, ranking and recommendationsShopify search and discovery features, or your current search vendor’s Shopify app.
Tax, payments and fraudTax calculation, gateways and fraud checksShopify Payments or a supported gateway, with tax and fraud apps where your setup needs them.

B2B on Shopify Plus: what you get, and what needs Plus

Shopify B2B is available on every plan, including companies and locations, quantity rules and price breaks, net payment terms, PO numbers and a quick order list. Shopify Plus adds the features enterprise B2B usually depends on (Shopify Help Center):

Markets, expansion stores, Checkout Extensibility and Functions

Most of what enterprise platforms do with custom code, Shopify Plus does with configuration and extension points. This is where your multi site setup and checkout logic go:

Several countries, currencies and languagesShopify MarketsCurrencies, languages, pricing and domains or subfolders per market in one store (Shopify Help Center).
Separate brands or regions with different catalogsExpansion storesShopify Plus includes 9 expansion stores (Shopify Help Center). We use them where catalogs, checkout or operations truly differ.
Checkout customizationsCheckout ExtensibilityCheckout UI extensions, branding and Functions. Customizing the information, shipping and payment steps is a Shopify Plus feature (Shopify Help Center).
Custom pricing, shipping and payment rulesShopify FunctionsDiscount, delivery, payment and validation logic runs on Shopify. Custom apps that use Functions require Shopify Plus (Shopify developer docs).
Back office automationShopify FlowTagging, routing, alerts and B2B workflows without custom servers.
Hosting, scaling and securityIncludedHosting, CDN and SSL are part of Shopify, and Shopify is certified PCI DSS Level 1 (Shopify security).

How we keep your SEO through an enterprise replatform

Shopify uses fixed URL prefixes (/products/, /collections/, /pages/), so most enterprise URLs change. Rankings survive when every indexed address points to the right new page. Our SEO checklist:

  • A full URL inventory. We export your platform’s URL rules and existing redirects, crawl the site and pull indexed and linked URLs from Search Console.
  • A one to one redirect map. Every product, category, content page and existing redirect gets a 301 redirect to its Shopify equivalent. No mass redirects to the homepage.
  • Metadata and content kept. Meta titles, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text and copy move unchanged.
  • Sitemap resubmitted. Shopify generates /sitemap.xml automatically (Shopify Help Center). We submit it in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools on launch day.
  • Post launch checks. We test old URLs on the live domain and watch Search Console for 404s, fixing any gaps.

Typical enterprise URL patterns and where they go:

Old URLShopify URLNotes
/mens/shirts/oxford-shirt/25592.html/products/oxford-shirtSalesforce SFRA style SEO URL with the product ID. Every category path variation redirects to the one product URL.
/on/demandware.store/Sites-Brand-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=25592/products/oxford-shirtSalesforce system URL. Query string URLs are tested after launch, see the note below.
/en/USD/Shirts/Oxford-Shirt/p/25592/products/oxford-shirtSAP Accelerator product URL with the product code after /p/.
/en/USD/Shirts/c/shirts/collections/shirtsSAP Accelerator category URL with the category code after /c/.
/browse/product.jsp?productId=prod25592/products/oxford-shirtJSP style ATG product URL, mapped by product ID.
/de/mens/shirts/oxford-shirt/25592.html/de/products/oxford-shirtLocale or country paths map to the matching Shopify market subfolder or domain.

Shopify URL redirects only work from URLs that no longer load a page. Stores can hold up to 100,000 redirects, or 20,000,000 on Shopify Plus, enough for large catalogs across many locales. URLs with query strings might not redirect as expected (Shopify Help Center), so we test them after launch.

Our enterprise migration process

Six steps, with your current platform live and selling until cutover day.

  1. Step 01

    Audit and inventory

We review your platform, custom code, integrations, B2B setup and URL rules, and crawl every URL. You receive a written migration plan.

  2. Step 02

    Data and architecture mapping

Catalogs, price books or price rows, inventory, sites, locales and B2B accounts are mapped to Shopify Plus, and you approve the plan.

  3. Step 03

    Build and integrations

We build the theme, rebuild custom logic as apps and Functions, extend the checkout and connect your ERP, PIM and OMS.

  4. Step 04

    Test migration

A full import runs into the new store. Your team checks products, prices, customers, B2B accounts and orders while the old platform stays live.

  5. Step 05

    Redirects and SEO

The redirect map, metadata, alt text and internal links are loaded and checked against the crawl, URL by URL.

  6. Step 06

    Delta migration and cutover

At cutover we move orders, customers and stock changed since the test run, switch the domain, submit the sitemap and monitor.

How long does an enterprise migration to Shopify Plus take?

Data transfer is the quick part. Most of the time goes into mapping, integrations, rebuilding custom logic, design and testing. Typical ranges by project type:

Project typeTypical scopeTypical timeline
Single siteOne brand and locale, a theme build, ERP or OMS connection12 to 20 weeks
Multi site or internationalSeveral sites, locales or currencies, PIM and ERP, custom checkout logic16 to 28 weeks
Enterprise B2B or B2B and DTCCompany accounts, negotiated pricing, approvals, several integrations20 to 36 weeks

Typical ranges for planning only, not a quote or a guarantee. Your audit sets the actual schedule, and phased launches by site or region are common.

What affects the cost of an enterprise migration to Shopify Plus?

We do not publish fixed prices, because no two enterprise stacks need the same work. A free audit gives you a fixed quote. These factors move it:

FactorWhy it matters
Data model complexityVariation models, attributes, price books or price rows and catalog versions all need mapping and validation.
Custom codeEach cartridge, extension or module you still need becomes a Shopify feature, an app, a custom app or a Function.
IntegrationsERP, PIM, OMS, WMS, CRM and search connections each need setup and end to end testing.
Sites, locales and currenciesEach one adds markets or expansion stores, translations, pricing and redirects.
B2B requirementsCompanies, catalogs, payment terms, budgets and approvals take mapping and testing.
Checkout logicCheckout changes are rebuilt with checkout UI extensions and Functions.
Order history volumeYears of orders take longer to extract, import and verify.
Design scopeA custom design costs more than adapting an existing theme.

Enterprise migration to Shopify Plus FAQ

Can we migrate from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify Plus without losing SEO?

Yes, if every indexed URL gets a 301 redirect to its new Shopify URL and your metadata and content stay the same. We build the redirect map from your Business Manager URL rules, existing redirects and a full crawl. Shopify Plus holds up to 20,000,000 redirects (Shopify Help Center).

What happens to our Salesforce cartridges?

Cartridge code does not move, but what it does can. We list every cartridge on your cartridge path and rebuild what you still need as theme code, an app, a custom app or Shopify Functions. Many LINK cartridges have a Shopify app from the same vendor (Salesforce Trailhead).

How do Salesforce price books and inventory lists move to Shopify?

List and sale price books become compare at price and price, currency price books become market pricing, and volume price tables become B2B volume pricing (Salesforce Trailhead). Each inventory list becomes stock at a Shopify location.

Which SAP Commerce catalog version do you migrate?

The Online catalog version, because it matches what customers see (SAP Learning). Before cutover we flag staged changes that were never synchronized, so you can publish or discard them.

Is the SAP Commerce Accelerator storefront still supported?

SAP has deprecated the Accelerator UI storefront extensions from SAP Commerce Cloud 2205 onward and published plans to remove them (SAP Knowledge Base 3263872). If you need a new storefront anyway, compare that rebuild with a full move to Shopify Plus.

Is Oracle Commerce (ATG) still supported?

It depends on the release. Oracle Commerce 11.3 left Premier Support in April 2022 and Extended Support in April 2025, while release 11.4 has Premier Support until July 2029 (Oracle Lifetime Support Policy). Oracle Commerce Cloud is a separate SaaS product that Oracle still documents.

Do we need Shopify Plus for B2B?

No. Shopify B2B is on every plan. Shopify Plus adds unlimited catalogs, catalogs assigned to specific companies and locations, deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment (Shopify Help Center). Most enterprise B2B merchants need those.

Can we keep our ERP, PIM and OMS?

Yes, in most cases. We reconnect them to Shopify Plus through the GraphQL Admin API, webhooks, an existing connector app or your middleware, and test them with real order scenarios before launch.

Will customers need new passwords?

Passwords cannot be transferred because they are stored as one way hashes. With Shopify new customer accounts, customers sign in with a one time code sent to their email, so no password is needed (Shopify Help Center).

How long does an enterprise migration take?

Typically 12 to 20 weeks for a single site and 20 to 36 weeks for enterprise B2B with several integrations. These are planning ranges, not a quote or a guarantee; your audit sets the schedule.
